In most markets, BBVA customers could split credit card expenses into installments, but not debit transactions. However, a significant percentage of daily spending occurs via debit cards.
The goal was to design a new multi-purchase financing feature that allows users to split one or multiple debit transactions into monthly payments, while adapting the experience to the regulations and technical infrastructure of each country.
Each market (Spain, Mexico, Argentina) had very different operational models:
- In Spain, the product is based on a virtual credit card limit.
- In Mexico, it works through a pre-approved line of credit.
- In Argentina, each financed transaction becomes an individual loan.
The challenge was to create a unified, intuitive experience that could adapt to these models while maintaining visual and functional consistency across all countries.
